Recently, my family decided to make the lifestyle change to plant-based eating! Plant-based eating isn’t just vegan, since you can be vegan, but still eat french fries at every meal! HAHA! Since that’s not healthy, we try to do our best to make the healthiest choices and only eat plant-based foods.
In the past, “diets” have always seemed hard. There were too many rules and the only reasons I was agreeing to them was to lose weight, or get more energy, or to just be healthy!
The Decision to Switch to Plant-Based Eating
When my husband and I made the choice to do this, it was definitely not like the past. This was a conscious decision that we wanted to make for ourselves and for our family, because we felt like this was the best choice for our health, for animals, and ESPECIALLY for the environment.
I never thought that eating meat and dairy had anything to do with the environment. I was absolutely wrong.
There will be a few videos linked that I encourage you to watch and a few articles you can read if you’re interested. You can find them at the bottom of this post.
I am definitely not here to explain all the reasons I think everyone should be on board with plant-based eating. I encourage you to do your own research and possibly start with having a few meatless meals a week! Try taste testing dairy alternatives!
We simply wanted to announce our decision to let you know how things might change around here on theoxmama.com!
We are focusing more on brands that HELP the environment. Posting vegan and plant-based recipes (AND how to encourage your kids along the way to a healthier lifestyle). We are sharing how this change benefits our life and hope maybe one day you will do the same.
Here are some things to read and watch that helped us make this decision:
