I love testing out new vegan recipes! I grabbed this one from a WHILE ago and brought it back. I’ve never made it on my blog but I used to make this often! The best thing about this Quinoa Fried Rice recipe is that it is SO customizable! I can split it up and add meat for my hubby or different veggies for the kids!
Quinoa is one of my favorite grains to work with because it is so versatile! I love using regular whole grain quinoa in place of rice. When I am in need of something a little extra on salads or burritos, TruRoots Sprouted Quinoa Trio is the best! I love the flavor it adds and how it elevates the dish!
Quinoa Fried Rice
- 1 cup TruRoots quinoa
- 2 cups water or vegetable broth
- 1 tbs coconut oil or vegetable oil
- ½ tbs garlic
- ½ tbs ginger
- 1tbs chili paste
- 2 cups of frozen veggies
- optional: bbq pork or shrimp
- optional: gluten free soy sauce
- Boil Quinoa and water together
- Cover and cook on low for 15 minutes
- While that is cooking, heat oil, garlic, and ginger in a skillet or wok
- Add veggies, chili paste, and soy sauce and cook until veggies are soft
- Fold in cooked Quinoa
- Optional: Top with cooked BBQ Pork or Shrimp
If you have time, it is best to put cooked quinoa in the fridge overnight before cooking. In that case, you can add it in at the end and cook until warmed. I love making an effort to make better choices and better meals for my family. That’s why it’s great that I can add in their favorite veggies!
TruRoots provides organic, whole grain products that are quick and easy to make! They can be the base (or topping) or almost any dish. I love adding the Sprouted Quinoa Trio to soups, salads, casseroles, and stir-frys!
The best part is how easy it is to add organic ingredients to meals throughout the week! Even better than that though, is truRoots is offering a 30% off coupon until October 7, 2017!

I honestly haven’t cooked with quinoa very often and when I do it’s usually in a pre packaged box and I don’t like those! This looks so much like a rice dish I make and sounds delicious!

It’s so nice to learn more about cookig quinoa. I didn’t know that you can leave it overnight after cooking, before you use it in a recipe. That makes a lot of sense. This fried rice looks so good!!!

I’ve used riced cauliflower to make fried rice but never thought about quinoa. It’s such a great idea because it gives that rice, nutty flavor that goes so great with stir-fry or other Asian dishes.
