This post is sponsored by Stonyfield and PrAna – who are helping me explain how to be The Whole You.
You know those moments when you begin to feel overwhelmed? By social media, politics, and horrifying news stories? I’m sure there could be a million more reasons too! Like my kids all being sick at the same time or spending the whole week refusing to do anything I ask. (It’s been a hard week, can you tell?)
Either way, things have been a little overwhelming. Then I got sick too. Ugh.
Even though I have been miserable and in pain, I am so thankful. I’m thankful that it forced me to do NOTHING.
Why can it be so hard for us to do nothing and be present?
Being present can be so relaxing, life-giving, and it gives you time to think! And enjoy where you are and who you are. Taking in a moment that’s worry free.
Be The Whole You
- Get Comfortable
- Be Outside
- Find a snack
- Watch the movements of your children
- Breathe
When I get intentional about doing this, I find a lot of peace in not caring about how I look, what I’m eating, or what people think. That alone helps me to be the whole me. Have you ever tried to just watch your kids play and focus on their movements. I love doing this because I feel like I can see layers of time on top of one another. I can see my boys at their first movement while I am watching them in the present and that is one of the most beautiful things.
PrAna and Stonyfield
I wanted to be intentional about being comfortable. I love sitting on my yoga mat. It’s a place where I feel like I can focus on being present. I can stretch and focus on my body. Recently, I received these yoga pants from PrAna and I could LIVE IN THEM. The organic cotton and hemp fabric is beyond comfortable! If you want some of your own or any one of PrAna’s amazing products, you can use my 15% off code: WHOLES17KMA
One of my favorite snacks that I never have to worry about is Stonyfield’s Organic Greek Whole Milk Yogurt cups. The cherry one is my favorites and I love how easy it is to grab when I need to focus on other things!
Lastly, breathing and being outside is what pulls me in every time. I had a professor in college that I looked up to tremendously. He was always such a great example of someone who took the time to be present every day! He gave me advice once to go outside EVERY SINGLE DAY. No matter what the weather is. Just do it. Even if it’s for 5 minutes, every day, it can be life changing! Be the WHOLE you and do what ever makes you happy.
