Real life about going out with three under four.
Going out with three kids is HARD and going out with three under four is REALLY hard.
I want to enjoy every stage that my children are at. I want to be present with them and take advantage of every moment. “They will never be this age ever again!” I hear that a lot and I know it’s true but sometimes things are just really hard!
Truth: I am struggling with this age group right now and things feel overwhelming at times. I can manage things at home (most days), however, going out of the house takes a lot of effort. It would be lovely if I could sit on the couch all day and sip coffee while watching Netflix with my children but that wouldn’t be good for any of us. I mean, it would be gooooooood, but it wouldn’t be good. You understand, right?! HAHA
For my health and sanity – as well as the health and sanity of my boys, we need to leave the house every now and then! It is nowhere near easy but it has to be done.
Luckily, there are a few things that help me survive!
Do you know of many places that fit THREE children in one cart? I can only think of one place that can fit two! For the most part, my oldest can walk on his own. I did say I have three under four, right? Three year old boys think there are many more than things that are more fun than walking around slowly next to a cart. The Binxy Baby has been a LIFESAVER. If I can’t wear the baby, this is the next best thing.
I cannot tell you how many people stop me in every store that I use this at, who ask me about my Binxy or to tell me how cool it is. It is seriously a game changer. I love this blue raindrop pattern that I got mine in and I love that he is safe. It is MUCH safer than putting a carseat in the basket at the front. My binxy baby gets me through the store much faster and with so much more ease! The Binxy fits in most standard shopping carts – even the thicker target ones! (can you tell I love target?) And on top of that, it works with babies up to 50 pounds and about 6 months old!

Ergo Baby or Solly Baby Wrap
Obviously babywearing is a wonderful choice! I try to wear my littles as much as possible. However, before I go into a store I ask myself, “Am I going to be chasing around my three year old wearing the baby or can I babywear in peace?”. Most of the time I can babywear but things go much faster with my binxy!

Snacks (aka BRIBES)
This might have been beneath me in my new mom phase. How can moms use candy and horrible sugary treats to silence and bribe their children?! *GASP* I laugh at the one-child version of me. I will do almost anything to have a little bit of peace in my hour or two at the store. You might say – “couldn’t you teach your children to obey your every word and then candy and bribes wouldn’t be necessary?” and again I would laugh. I mentioned I have three under four right? Three BOYS under four? If I was a three year old or one year old boy – there are SO many other things I would rather be doing than sitting in a cart at the grocery store or while my mom slowly and meticulously walks down every aisle at Target. I might scream for lollipops too! So this mom of three happily hands out lollipops as we walk in the store to avoid screaming meltdowns.
If you want to make that mom life a little easier, get your own Binxy Baby – you can find it here 🙂

I can’t imagine. I had 2 under 1 for a while 😛 What an awesome blessing.
Target carts work the best for us 🙂 The ones with the 2 seats beside each other. If I wasn’t already a Target fan, I DEFINITELY was after that. Thanks for sharing 🙂
