As a new mom, you bring your baby home from the hospital and you sit down. You can cuddle with him on the couch or you can lay him in his crib. I remember wanting to hold Little Ox #1 all day long. I never wanted to put him down. Watching him sleep was one of my favorite things.
Now I lay my baby down in his crib as soon as he falls asleep, I tiptoe away as quietly as humanly possible, and I take off! This might be a little dramatic. Usually I am taking off because I’m trying to leave the bedroom before my one year old starts crying at the baby gate because I am in the bedroom without him. I will do anything to keep that baby asleep!
I try not to admit this too often, but ever since day 1 my boys slept. All night long. In their own beds. Any by all night long, I don’t mean 4-5 solid hours. I am talking about closer to 10! I don’t want other moms to hate me so I usually don’t bring that up. However, because of that, they don’t sleep very long during the day. Poor #3 wouldn’t get very long at all. Mostly because of his loud older brothers shooting each other with their pretend Iron man Blasters in the hallway.
Third Baby Syndrome
Third baby syndrome can be very difficult for a little one. Here are some of the reasons why:
- Always getting woke up by older siblings
- What’s a baby book?!
- Spending more time in the swing and bumbo than anywhere else
- 10 minute nursing sesh (and if you’re lucky, that’s NOT interrupted)
- Sooooo many hand-me-downs
- Not enough one on one time with mama and dad!
And these are just a few. Sometimes I think I might go crazy on the days where Little Ox #3 doesn’t nap. I know I have no room to complain since he sleeps all night, but MAN! Three is hard! I can accomplish so much during his little 20 minute naps. Imagine if they were longer…
Enter the DockATot…
I could not believe how much better Trenton will sleep now that this has entered our lives! Like I mentioned above, Trenton would only sleep in 20-30 minute increments during the day. Now he will sleep at least an hour at a time!
Our DockATot gives this mama a MUCH needed break. ESPECIALLY, when his older brothers are napping or resting too! Our Dock is perfect for tummy time, napping, and lounging! And on top of that, it’s BREATHABLE! That’s a necessity for me and it’s totally comforting! These breathable blankets, from Tuesday June, are just about the only thing I let my babies sleep with. Plus they’re adorable too!
He looks so cozy in this thing and he is safe and protected too! I also love that it’s his. Amidst all of his Third Baby Syndrome – he can get rest and cozy up in something that only belongs to him. And then that makes me feel less guilty about him not having a baby book – haha!
If your little one is having trouble napping – I suggest you try this out! They even have one for toddlers that I hear is AMAZING for transitioning your toddler into a bigger bed. Try it out with $10 0ff!

I have heard so many good things about this product. My kids have also been pretty good sleepers, especially my first. Oh my goodness, he would sleep really well through the night, then he was still napping three times a day till he was about 2 years old! None of my others have been quite like that, lol.
