It’s football weekend! One of my favorite dishes for game day is wings! These honey lemon pepper wings are the perfect balance of sweet and spicy for everyone who is over for the game. Even my one-year old was walking around with a wing in his hand, excitedly proclaiming “MEAT, MEAT, MEAT!” I love wings because you can do almost anything with them!
New Comfort Food
Instead of doing fried chicken wings, which can be a great comfort food dish, try something new! These wings are a new kind of comfort food because I used minimal, fresh, local ingredients AND it can be whipped up pretty quickly! That part is especially important in this house! If we have people coming over to watch football, I am going to spend more of my time cleaning than cooking! My crazy boys can make a mess pretty quickly!
New Comfort Food is:
Foster Farms Simply Raised fresh chicken was the perfect choice for this! It is locally grown in the Pacific Northwest and in California! And on top of that, it contains NO antibiotics ever!
This is seriously the easiest recipe ever! Which means more time actually watching the game, making memories with friends and family, and yes, cleaning.
My husband loves dressing all our boys up in their Saints football gear and teaching our one year old to say “who dat? Saints!” I never used to like football, but when my husband and I first started dating, he taught me about the game! It took lots and lots of questions (and playing Madden on xbox) but I love watching football with him! It makes it more fun when we have yummy things to snack on while watching the game!
