My hospital bag for baby number 3 is straight and to the point! Even though I am on my third baby – packing a hospital bag stressed me out a little bit even though you would think I would have it down by now! 🙂 Luckily, for the most part, I know what I want/need and what I don’t. For Little Ox #1 I walked into the hospital with so many things and only used about half (maybe less)! With #2 I was a little more precise but there were a few things I forgot or that I realized later would have been helpful. Although it didn’t help that he came so early and I wasn’t quite ready!
This time, I am packed BEFORE baby arrives and in a few days, I will be coming up on the time that Little Ox #2 came! Crazy to think about our #3 being here any day now, but I am SO SO happy that this baby decided to stay put at least until now! In the beginning, we worried that #3 might come earlier than #2, especially because the pregnancies were pretty close together. Luckily, we are almost at 36 weeks and baby is still in. YAY!
I also love that everyone’s hospital bag is SO different – that’s why I love asking people what their top favorites are to pack. Some of the things that I always hear (and that are also included in mine) are:
- Chapstick
- Pillow
- Robe
- Boppy Pillow
- Nipple Cream
Obviously, there is much more but these are definitely the essentials! Now, here are some of my specifics that I will be having in my bag this time around:
Robe | Gown | Swaddle | Lipstick | Concealer
- My own hospital “gown”
- I wanted something of my own to wear during labor and delivery. Something flowy and something that could easily be pulled down to lay baby on my chest. This gown from target was so cute and perfect and I am so excited to feel comfortable in my own outfit – instead of a hospital gown!
- A thin robe
- I thought about using this for labor and delivery as well, but I packed this specifically to wear in recovery with the baby. I love how thin this robe is and I love the print. Pinkblush sell so many adorable prints in the robe – it was so hard to pick! I wanted something light but that was also easy to open and nurse while in the hospital.
- Makeup
- There’s always pictures right?! There’s nothing wrong with a little touch up to make you feel fresh. I’m bringing my three favorites – two from Sephora!
- Swaddles
- I LOVE bringing my own swaddles to the hospital. My absolute fave to bring to the hospital are Mima’s Nursery Shoppe’s swaddles. They are so soft and the perfect size for babes! Plus they are so cute. The breathable fabric is also amazing since this will be a summer baby! The Ollie I love for when baby is a little bigger or if they are an escape artist out of swaddles! 🙂
Bottom Balm | Nipple Cream (not pictured) | Pacifier Clip c/o Madline’s Box | Pacifier
- Postpartum Healing
- I would definitely go to Earth Mama Angel Baby and The Honest Company for all my postpartum healing needs! The Bottom Balm and Monthly Tea are absolutely coming in my bag! The tea is SO going to help with the painful shrinking of my uterus back to it’s normal size – except hopefully without all the pain this time! Also, Lanolin or Honest’s Nipple Balm will be with me for sure to help with breastfeeding and getting it off to good start!
- Pacifier and Clip
- I love these clips from Madeline’s Box! They are so soft and she has SO many color options. I might not need it in the hospital if we decide to wait on a pacifier but it will absolutely be in my diaper bag! Same goes with the Natursutten Pacifier! There are so many reasons I want to use this with this babe and I want it with me just in case!
- Essential Oils + Diffuser
- I am absolutely bringing these for labor and delivery! I want lavender and Peace and Calming diffusing the entire time I am in labor and I would love to have my Tranquil Roll on for in recovery!
Diaper Bag (similar) | Watercolor Birth Cards
Oh and I LOVEEEE my Steve Madden diaper bag and I am so excited to bring it with me!! Also, check out my post about these Birth Affirmation Cards and make sure to have them in YOUR hospital bag too!
That’s most of it! I will be showing off some more baby stuff that I will be bringing to the hospital once I get it together! Enjoy!
